Contains the following type(s) of materials: photographs, photo albums. Covers the following war time period: 1922-1958. Contains photographs of the following military units and organizations: 1st, 2nd, 4th Infantry Divisions; 3rd, 6th, 26th Infantry Regiments; Army Security Agency; Command and General Staff College. General description of the collection: Thomas S. Timberman photograph collection reflects Timberland's later years of his career. There is a nice photo of Brigadier General Harold B. Fiske and staff at Fort De Jessup, Canal Zone in May 1933; interesting photo album given to Fiske in 1922 of the new colors presentation to the 3rd Infantry Regiment, the Old Guard, then stationed at Fort Snelling, Minnesota; the color Guard is wearing a pseudo-Continental Army uniform. Photos of Command and General Staff College, class 1939-1940. Interestingly, there is very little dealing with General Timberland's WWII service from 1946 to his retirement in 1960. Photos of his service in China, a trip to Turkey (1948), his service in Berlin; with Army Security Agency, 1958-1960. This a good collection, especially the post WWII images and would rate a good look for anyone doing research on the cold war era.
